School Closing Procedures

To find out if Harbor Springs Public Schools are closed due to weather or other unforeseeable circumstances, there are a number of different systems that you can check or subscribe to.

District Website

The main page of the district website at http://www.harborps.org will have a notification if school is closed or delayed.

District Facebook Page

You can “Like” the Harbor Springs Public Schools district Facebook Page (link is here). You can also click on the widget in the page footer to get redirected to the district FB Page.

School Messenger System
Harbor Springs Public Schools is using the School Messenger System, which is integrated with PowerSchool and uses parent-provided email addresses, phone numbers and SMS messaging (with opt-in) to notify staff and parents.  This system will be used for school closings related to weather or other school emergencies. NOTE: You need to opt-in if you wish to receive notifications via text message. Please text YES to 67587 if you wish to receive district notifications.

If you are interested in receiving a text/email message regarding Emmet County emergencies like road and school closings, please sign up at the Tri-County Office of Emergency Management’s website. To sign up please follow the steps below:
