The first semester ends on January 21 with a half day of school, 11:00 dismissal. The second semester begins on January 24.
January 19-21 Schedule Change
Due to HSHS final exams, HSMS will make the following changes to our daily schedule:
Wednesday, January 19
Geometry and Algebra II report to HSHS for exams at 8:00, ride shuttle to HSMS at 9:30
5th hour Art reports to MS art classroom.
5th hour Strength & Conditioning reports to Large Group Room.
5th hour Spanish reports to Mrs. McShanock’s classroom.
All 6th hour classes will attend the girls 8th grade basketball game at HSMS at 2:15.
Thursday, January 20
Geometry & Algebra II report to Mrs. McShannock’s classroom at 8:00 for math iReady testing
All HSMS students eat lunch at HSMS.
5th hour Spanish eats from 11:15-11:35 and rides shuttle to HSHS at 11:40 for 11:50-1:25 class.
5th hour Art and Strength & Conditioning eats from 12:15-12:50 at HSMS, catch shuttle to HSHS at 12:50, attend 5th hour from 12:55-1:25. Students with 6th hour at HS report to 6th hour classes. Students with 6th hour at MS catch shuttle and report to the large group room.
Students with just 6th hour at HS catch shuttle at 1:25 and report to 6th hour teachers.
Friday, January 21
8:00-9:30 5th hour Art, Strength & Conditioning, Spanish, report to HSHS for exams.
9:35-11:00 6th hour Art, Strength & Conditioning, Spanish, Woodshop report to HSHS for exams.

Second Hour 8:31-8:57
Third Hour 9:02-9:28
*students who have 6th hour at HSHS take shuttle to HSHS at 9:28
Fourth Hour 9:33-9:59
*students with 5th hour at HSHS return to HSMS via shuttle and report to normal 4th hour classes upon arrival.
Fifth Hour 10:04-10:30
*students who had 5th hour at HSHS report to Mrs. McShannock’s classroom and then to normal 6th hour teachers
Sixth Hour 10:35-11:00

- 1/17 MS Basketball at East Jordan, dismiss at 2:50
- 1/18 MS Ski Meet at Nubs, dismiss at 2:30
- 1/19 MS Basketball home v. Boyne City, 2:15
COVID testing for athletes will be done once weekly on Mondays from 7:30-8:00 AM in the large group room.
Eligibility for the new quarter began Friday, November 26. Students must be eligible in all of their classes (60% or better overall grade) to participate in school sports and school sponsored extracurricular activities, including the musical.
Cell Phone Policy:
Cell phones are not allowed to be in use between 8:00-3:00 on the middle school campus. If you send your child to school with a cell phone, please reiterate to them that phones should be kept off and out of sight throughout the day. Please review our HSPS policy below.
